Poor Tom

Nobody loves him. AP (01.09.06):
"The state's highest criminal court on Monday denied Rep. Tom DeLay's request that the money laundering charges against him be dismissed or sent back to a lower court for an immediate trial." Texas Court Won't Dismiss DeLay Charges
Not only this, but in the past couple of weeks, he's been forced to give up his position as House majority leader (his "friends" there didn't even wait for his chair to cool off), got snubbed by the White House ("a useful servant, not someone you would want to vacation with."), and has been implicated in all sorts of corruption and influence-peddling scams. His reponse? Well it's all the fault of the Democrats, Ronnie Earle and the eight grand juries that indicted him. But of course!! As Josh Marshall notes, "The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals is made up of nine judges. Each one elected. Each one a Republican." Poor Tom. A victim of avarice well within his control.
