The Truth Is Not With Her

You remember old Jean. She's the one who slandered Jack Murtha last November on the floor of the House, viz., "that cowards cut and run, Marines never do". You may also remember Jack enlisted with the Marines back in 1952. He was good enough to work himself into a drill instructor slot at Parris Island. Try doing that in your spare time. He made officer via the Officer Candidate School at Quantico. Might as well try doing that in your spare time too. "He then was assigned to the Second Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In 1959, Captain Murtha took command of the 34th Special Infantry Company, Marine Corps Reserves, in Johnstown. He remained in the Reserves after his discharge from active duty until he volunteered for Vietnam in 1966-67, receiving the Bronze Star with Combat 'V', two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry." Murtha, as they say, ain't no pussy. Jean, on the other hand, is a lying sack. Just like Katherine Harris down in Florida. What's with these people that get 'em thinking they can get away with this shit? AP (08.24.06):
"Republican Rep. Jean Schmidt is fast, capable of running a marathon in 3 hours, 19 minutes, 6 seconds. At least that's what a photo on the Ohio congresswoman's Web site shows. No way, says a rival who contends that the picture from the 1993 Columbus Marathon is doctored and complained to state election officials." Rep. Schmidt's Marathon Ad Questioned
"The photo shows Schmidt near the finish line at the marathon with a time clock showing 3:19:06, which would have made her one of the top finishers." Turns out there's documentation. "But a newspaper list of the top runners does not include Schmidt, said Nathan Noy, who is seeking to run as a write-in candidate against Schmidt." Not only that, the photo Jean used may be fake. "In the photo, Schmidt doesn't cast a shadow while other runners do." "A four-member commission panel ruled Thursday that there was enough evidence to look into the complaint." Houston, we have a pattern here. Cincinnati Enquirer (04.28.06):
"A unanimous Ohio Elections Commission voted to issue U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt a public reprimand Thursday for 'false statements' - claiming she had a second undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati that she never received. A letter citing the campaign's 'reckless disregard for truth' was to be sent by the commission today to Schmidt, her campaign and her husband, Peter, as committee treasurer." Schmidt gets reprimand
"It's the most serious punishment short of fines or criminal prosecution."
