"No Americans say they think the financial situations in their households are getting better, and "(n)o Americans say that the national economy is getting better". Plus damned near no one likes George. American Research Group (09.22.08), via Think Progress:

Billions for the war + Bailout Billions = So much shit that the next person in office is going to look bad making the hard choices raising all that money that it won't matter who it is.
(With the sound bite mentality this country seems to have, it's going to be forgotten how we got in this mess in the first place. I find thist last thought the saddest.)
