I'm not a republican, but TORT reform and allowing insurance company competition across state lines were republican ideas. Why weren't they accepted? Well, they didn't hook up unions with tax dollars, they didn't allow the government to seize yet more power, and it didn't allow immediate coverage for all of the illegal aliens democrats wish to give amnesty. Basically, no union vote farming, no immigrant vote farming, so no democratic support. I'm no fan of republicans. They fell asleep 8 years and let Bush (who doesn't seem to know what a veto is, even with a democratic congress his last two years) hijack the party and all but destroy fiscal conservatism in government. I'm not willing to play the two party game anymore. The lesser of two evils is still EVIL! Vote <a href="http://www.goooh.com>GOOOH</a> if you believe in representative government.

Hmmm. The health insurance companies in this State are already competing against each other in other states. United Health, Blue Cross? Hell, they're everywhere.
To do business here, they have to comply with this State's requirements. If you forced this State to accept any old insurance company licensed by any old State, wouldn't you be forcing us to accept the lowest common denominator? Talk about giving the Feds more power!!
As for Tort reform, damned doctor takes out a left kidney instead of the right, why should someone be limited in how much they can recover? You dont' want the Feds to dictate how much that's worth too, right?
