Dancing With The Bank That Bought You

Holy fuck, is all we gotta say. Bob Inglis, current House member who lost the recent primary in SC4 because he wasn't wingnutty enough. Mother Jones, via Oliver Willis:
"I sat down, and they said on the back of your Social Security card, there's a number. That number indicates the bank that bought you when you were born based on a projection of your life's earnings, and you are collateral."

Socialism

any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

How is Obama not socialist exactly?

Healthcare, Auto Bailout, Bank Bailout, Housing Bailout, Union Bailout, etc.

Don't worry though, Republicans have been infected with socialism as well.

No child left behind, Bank Bailout, Stimulus Package, Farm Subsidies, etc.

Honestly, even Bush was a socialist, even though he was too dense to realize it.

"I'm abandoning free market principles to save a free market system." -George W. Bush

Bush claimed he was somehow saving capitalism, by abandoning capitalist priciples.

It has as much logic as getting out of debt by spending money you don't have.

"They say, 'Bob, what don't you get? Barack Obama is a socialist, communist Marxist who wants to destroy the American economy so he can take over as dictator. Health care is part of that. And he wants to open up the Mexican border and turn [the US] into a Muslim nation.'"

This, sir, is crazy talk.

Yeah, and that socialism stuff. Why we might just end up like those poor oppressed bastards in Norway or Switzerland or New Zealand or Canada.

Couldn't have that now, could we.

Look, I gave you the definition of socialism. What's not socialist about socialized medicine?

Canadians, New Zealanders, Swiss, and Norwegians. Yeah, real economic powerhouses. Why don't you take a look at what the UK is doing. They've had socialized medicine for quite a while, and now they're starting to move away from it, because it has become unsustainable.

Economic powerhouses? Well by golly, I thought the reason their GDP was smaller than the US' was because they were much smaller countries!

Or do you mean economic powerhouses in the sense that the Norwegians and the Swiss have higher per capita gross incomes than the US?

And by socialized medicine, do you mean something like Medicare?

Or do you mean something like the Veterans' Hospital system?

And by the way, anytime you'd like to provide links to back up any of your assertions, me and the other three readers of this shitty blog would appreciate it.
